Shubdeep Singh scores music for film on Leprosy, Daag-The Spot

MUMBAI: He is the new kid on the block in the Hindi film music industry; Shubdeep Singh, just in his 20’s has created a number of hit soundtracks for Punjabi Pop industry. But with Daag-The Spot, Shubhdeep is making a foray into the Hindi film industry.

With a fresh star cast, along with a strong storyline, Daag-The Spot is based on a sensitive topic of Leprosy, which has not been taken up ever before for a feature film in Bollywood. The lyrics and composition for this film based on a social cause, has been given by Manish Verma, which itself stands apart. According to Manish, he had a herculean task while composing the songs for the film as it is based on a sensitive issue Leprosy.

Sources informed us that makers of the film, Daag-The Spot, Hemant Puri, Rajat Goswami and Mujeeb Ul Hassan, apparently wanted fresh music for their film. In this search they came across one of Shubhdeep’s song on a video sharing platform and immediately decided to hire him in discussion with Manish Verma.

Using his divine music knowledge as he calls it, Shubhdeep Singh, says that as soon as he heard the compositions of the film he knew that he had to create music that was full of grandeur and which needed to be larger than life to capture the essence of the story.
