MUMBAI: Richa Sharma turned a year older on 29 August, and threw a bash at a suburban Mumbai banquet hall for her friends and well wishers to mark the occasion.
Richa, who shot to fame with her Mahi Ve track in Kaante and also was the co – anchor for Antakshari alongside Anu Kapoor, believes that the birthday bash is the prime opportunity to bond with friends she hasn’t been able to meet up due to her packed schedules. She says, “Celebrating my birthday, more than just a formality is an opportune moment to catch up and bond with all my friends from the fraternity and otherwise, with whom I haven’t been able to meet in a long time due to their busy work schedules and other commitments. It’s a great feeling to usher in one’s Birthday amidst all the well wishers who have stood by my side all these years and are an integral part of my life now.”
Richa who debuted in Bollywood with Saawan Kumar Tak’s Salma Pe Dil Aa Gaya, got her first big break with A R Rahman’s Taal. Thereon, success has been at her heels with resoundingly successful songs from movies: Zubedia, Saathiya, Hera Pheri, Baghban, Kal Ho Na Hol, Saaawariya and many more. Some of her hit songs includes Maahi Ve (Kaante), Chalka Chalka Re (Saathiya), Kal Ho Na Ho sad song (Kal Ho Na Ho), Baabul bidayi song (Baabul), tauba tauba (Kaal),Lambi Judai (Jannat),Title song (Baghbaan)Kahin Aag Lage (Taal), Bitiya Na Kijo (Umrao Jaan) and the recent Daras Bina Nahi Chain from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Saawariya.
