Reena Kaushal honoured with Radio Misty excellence Award

MUMBAI: Radio Misty 94.3 fm, the first and Number one fm station of North Bengal and Sikkim honoured the first Indian women to ski to South Pole Reena Kaushal Dharmsakhtu with Misty Excellence Award.

For 38-year-old Reena, who had edged out 116 compatriots to get the right to represent India in the expedition, it marked a unique achievement. The women, from seven countries, were part of the Kaspersky Commonwealth Antarctic Expedition mounted to mark the 60th anniversary of the Commonwealth.

Reena did her mountaineering training from the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute in Darjeeling and has been on IMF expeditions to Gangotri 1, the first ascent of Argan Kangri, Fluted Peak, Stock Kangri, Phawararang, Mt Nun and others.
This was a homecoming for Reena with lot of people from all across the region welcoming her. Reena was Radio Misty studio for a special show. Radio Misty Chief Executive officer Nishant Mittal presented Reena with Misty Excellence award. Says Mittal, this is the most proud moment for us to felicitate Reena Kaushal. She has been icon for youths in this region. This is her first visit after her expedition to South Pole. We celebrated her success with listeners’.
