This year, the show featured calling Jaggu dada (actor Jackie Shroff) whether he’s gay as rumours suggest? Or the recent case of Bidan Barua and his father speak to each other on the case of his decision and the court orders letting him change his sex. Or pull a ‘shendi’ (Prank) on a senior official at MMRDA saying that the Metro’s welding work had burnt her sister’s blouse resulting in him swearing to work more responsibly. Bollywood got bolder with Vidya Balan feeding listeners fantasies and Hrithik, Farhan singing about ‘aam aadmi’ woes in the rain. All in all we promise 3 things “Entertainment Entertainment Entertainment”

Under the Promo & Marketing category, Suryan FM and RED FM bagged gold each for Best Radio Promo in house in Tamil and Kannada respectively. Suryan bagged the metal for its work on Anti-Tobacco Day. The promo concept was mostly for men- “quit smoking” is one of the New Year resolutions, every year. “World No Tobacco Day” primarily focused on encouraging users to refrain from tobacco consumption and its related products, at least for one day. Suryan FM, as a mass channel, decided to be a part of this good cause and to spread the ill effects of tobacco consumption made 3 promos as trilogy.

Red FM this year came up with the novel initiative of ‘Maamu ko Paani Pila’. The heat in Mumbai becomes unbearable in summer, and who bears the direct brunt of it? Well, not the Mumbaikar comfortable in his ac office, but the Police Officers who stand for more than 8 hours in the heat manning traffic. It’s easy to complain, but very few think about what lies beneath. A week long campaign spearheaded by our jocks and supported by our listeners as we distributed over 9562 bottles to all the traffic cops all over Mumbai city. It was an eye opener for Mumbai and we got listeners to start thinking from another perspective.

Similarly, RED Arrest is a weekly on-air property on the morning show of Red FM Delhi. which was primarily an extension of the on-air segment. The campaign was for the people of Delhi where in there is one personality per week, who’s interviewed by the people of Delhi instead of our RJs. The campaign featured personalities such as Anna Hazare, Amitabh Bachchan, Yuvraaj Singh, Baba Ramdev have been Red Arrested. From a 65 lakh pre-campaign average cume (all people 12+, all day parts), we reached the 70 lakh mark by the end of campaign, which stabilised and has only grown since.
Maxus won the award for the Best Innovative radio campaign for its work on ASK ME, titled ‘Google on Radio’ which was executed and planned with the RED FM’s teams. The innovation was a set of creative’s created by the RED FM team that ran immediately after every ad for each category replicating ASK ME as a search engine on radio.
