MUMBAI: Rajshri Productions’ numerous blockbusters have always been known for their mind-blowing songs. Over the years, the legendary banner has amply proved just how seriously it takes its film’s music. So it was hardly surprising that the glittering unveiling of their latest film, Isi Life Mein, and its music launch appeared more like a film’s release!
What made this lavish affair different from other such events was the predominance of the youth brigade during the launch. The loudest cheers during the evening were reserved for the film’s young, debutant director Vidhi Kasliwal. The other two head-turners at the event were, of course, the lead pair Akshay Oberoi and Sandeepa Dhar and the highly talented music directors Meet Bros and Anjjan who have composed the fabulous peppy music of Isi Life Mein…! The other cast members including freshers who are actual students from various colleges all over Mumbai, rendering the required freshness, innocence, realism and youthfulness to the film, were present as well.
Quite expectedly, the guest list at the gala event read like a veritable who’s who of Bollywood, beginning from actors Mohnish Behl and wife Ekta Behl, director Jagmohan Mundhra, architect Noshir Talati, Paulomi Dhawan, Prachee Shah, music composers Manmeet and Harmeet from Meet Bros Anjjan, lyrics writer Manoj ‘Muntashir,’ singers Udit Narayan, the film’s lead actors Sandeepa Dhar and Akshay Oberoi with their families and of course, mentor and Vidhi’s uncle, director Sooraj Barjatya and Vikas Kasliwal. Vidhi has assisted Sooraj Barjatya first in Vivah and then Kaushik Ghatak in Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi, before embarking on her directorial venture.

The movie revolves around the lives of two teenagers in today’s world and the belief that one not only has the right to dream but also the ability to fulfil one’s dreams, Isi Life Mein…!… said director Vidhi Kasliwal on being asked to explain the title of the film. I have been able to recreate many scenes in the film based on what I had observed during my holidays in my hometown and in college in Mumbai,… she revealed.
Isi Life Mein…! is primarily a journey of a small town girl, belonging to a traditional family, who has been conditioned to believe that dreams are far from reality. With her mother’s help, she lands up attending a Mumbai college where she meets a boy and his quirky gang of friends. At first she is taken aback by how different they are in the way they dress in the way they speak, in the way they are; but as she gets to know them better, she realizes that no matter how different they all are on the outside, deep down they are all alike. They too are facing the trials of adolescence just like she is. From then on begins her new journey where the boy and the gang make her believe that she not only has the right to dream but also the capability to accomplish all her dreams… Isi Life Mein…!
Isi Life Mein… is directed by debutant Vidhi Kasliwal, who has previously assisted Sooraj R. Barjatya and Kaushik Ghatak.
