MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM – the ardent emissary of Sandalwood provided a fitting finale to the Amrutha Mahotsava extravaganza. As a culmination to its ‘Retro Rani’ contest – four lucky listeners accompanied by Hudugaatadha Hudugi RJ Varsha host of Bombaat Bhama were given a glamorous retro style makeover. Beat Raja RJ Raj also joined in on the occasion.
Inspired by the look of Sandalwood’s yesteryear beauties, Kalpana, Manjula, Aarthi, Jayanthi, the ladies looked resplendent in 70s inspired finery complimented by suitable hairdos, make-up and accessories. The listeners – Veena, Swetha, and Chaitra were then treated to a sumptuous lunch at South Indies situated at Infantry Road, an excited listener said, “I had a great time and feel really special to have been accorded this opportunity of a makeover. Radio Mirchi is a constant companion to many of us with its innovative programmes, friendly RJs and great music and this initiative has made it even more special.”
The winning ladies, RJ Varsha and the makeover artist (Kavitha, owner of Sri Sai Beauty Parlour in Lingarajpuram) also enjoyed a delectable spread of South Indian cuisine at South Indies.
