Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM India’s hottest radio station in association with ICICI Prudential Health Solutions announced Kumar Suraksha Housing Society Pune as the winner of Har Ghar Healthy – a first of its kind fitness face off across residential societies of Pune. The Chairperson, Secretary and the healthiest family of the society were invited to the Radio Mirchi studio Pune on Tuesday, 29 January 2008 where host of the show Bumper2Bumper- RJ Anirudh gave away the healthiest family trophy.Radio Mirchi Activations recently carried out this contact activity over three weekends, covering 30 societies in the process. The basic criteria for selection of societies was a minimum of 150 flats and a common club or garden area where the fun filled activities could be carried out in true Mirchi style! Residents were first invited for a basic interaction with a prominent dietician who carried out a BMI (Body Mass Index) check. Later on, the physical fitness of participants was tested with games like Fit Hai To Hit Hai which involved balancing one’s body on one leg, weight lifting, skipping and push ups. Teams comprising of 2 to 4 members from the same family battled it out in Fit Hai To Hit Hai so as to win the “Healthiest Family” trophy. Other entertaining and health centric games were Tug of War, Health Housie and Main Aur Mere Papa. The winner of each game was gratified with Har Ghar Healthy goody bags. Talking about the activity, Mr. Anand Parmeshwaran, National Head, Radio Mirchi Activations, says, “Radio Mirchi Activations offers a synergy between below the line and above the line advertising. It allows access to multiple touch points through multiple creative in a focused area. The greatest strength of a below the line activity created by radio is its understanding and the relationship with a geographical area, its people and its culture”. The Mirchi radio waves in Pune carried nothing but news of Radio Mirchi and ICICI Prudential Health Solutions coming to societies in Pune in order to introduce and encourage the concept of healthy families and communities. Mirchi team went out in full force in their efforts to spread awareness about health, even giving out basic health tips through numerous capsule programs. In fact, Radio Mirchi took the activity to a whole new level by creating a character called ‘Health Havaldaar’. Unlike the distinctive potbellied Indian Havaldaar this healthier version walked around the city, spotting people indulging in unhealthy activities and gave them a healthy goody bag. Since this entire activity was about people and their well being, the excitement of various participants was played out on air and their cheers filled the entire city of Pune.
