MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM sparkled once again at the recently concluded 5th Indian Excellence in Radio aka IRF awards The awards come close on the heels of the IRS results declared few weeks back, which declared Radio Mirchi the undisputed leader.
In a product category like Radio, where it is difficult to differentiate channels based on music alone, the elements which differentiate channels are the jocks and non music elements like sparklers, promos etc. Mirchi stood way above everyone else in these key elements.
RJ of the year award in Hindi, Bengali and Gujarati was awarded to Mirchi. It also won the best jock of the year in Hindi, non-metro.

The best jocks in the country and a team which can create clutter breaking sparklers and promos always leads to differentiated content. The innovative content on Mirchi was appreciated by the jury and got Mirchi awards for the best radio programs – Sunday Suspense, in Bengali and Hellow Amdavad, in Gujarati. A recent path breaking initiative by Mirchi, Mirchi Vodafone Caller Tune also got the award in a separate category.
Awards won by Radio Mirchi include Best Radio Programme (Bengali) and (Gujarati) for â€?Sunday Suspense’ and â€?Hello Amdavad’, respectively, Best Radio Sparkler for â€?Mirchi Murga’, RJ of the Year (Hindi), (Bengali) and (Gujarati) for RJ Stutee, RJ Mir and RJ Dhvanit, respectively, RJ of the Year (Hindi – for Non-metro Stations) for RJ Vikrant, and Best Radio Promo – In-house (Gujarati) for â€?Aa Adavad Chhe’.
