MUMBAI: Popdust.com, the web destination dedicated exclusively to pop music, announced its Spotify app, Lifetracker, is now available within the Spotify app finder in the US. Lifetracker features Popdust editors’ hand-curated soundtracks to any day-to-day activity you might think of — from working out to making out — enabling users the opportunity to share their own playlists to like-minded music lovers. The app also offers links to the latest in pop star news and interactive features on Popdust.com.

The availability of its Spotify app follows an announced redesign of Popdust’s website, a new brand identity, and a host of new interactive and fan-sourced features. In March, the company introduced Popdust Style, its online retail store where music fans shop for clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories. The inaugural collection of fashion and accessories was curated by Epic Records recording artist Karmin.
The strategic revamp and extension of the Popdust brand accompanies a new CEO, Hugh Panero, formerly the CEO and founder of XM Satellite Radio, and the company’s closing a $4.5 million Series-A fund raise led by New Enterprise Associates with participation from other leading venture capital firms RRE Ventures, Softbank Capital and international investment firm and company builder Project A Ventures, along with several prominent individual investors.
