MUMBAI: Paltalk, the leading real-time, video-based chat community with over four million active members, today announced recording artist Melinda Doolittle will be a featured guest during Paltalk’s Malaria Day on September 15 at 2 pm EST joining Paltalk to raise money to fight Malaria. Melinda finished as the third place finalist on the sixth season of American Idol.
Melinda learned about malaria and the organization, Malaria No More, on the first Idol Gives Back… charity special in 2007. Since then, Melinda has spoken to countless youth groups, conferences and news organizations about Malaria No More and encourages every person to help end malaria deaths by getting involved and getting the word out. In June 2007, Melinda traveled to Zambia with First Lady Laura Bush and Malaria No More to distribute life-saving bed nets and raise awareness.
Ms. Doolittle’s debut CD, Coming Back to You, was released on February 3, 2009. In its first month, the CD sold over 30,000 copies. Melinda has just released a new album, Coming Back To You, available at www.melindadoolittle.com. A portion of the proceeds from both albums is donated to Malaria No More. Melinda’s fan base has embraced her support of Malaria No More, running marathons and sending bed nets instead of flowers to wish her luck at concerts.
In addition to Melinda Doolittle, Paltalk will host video chats on September 15th with other malaria activists:
– 11 AM – Lance Laifer, Founder of Hedge Funds vs Malaria & Pneumonia
– 12 PM – Richard Tren, Director of Africa Fighting Malaria
– 1 pm – Robert Mather, Against Malaria Foundation
– 2 pm – Melinda Doolittle, Recording Artist & Malaria activist
