MUMBAI: The stage is set and the air is buzzing with excitement as Radio City’s RC Live brings a lifetime opportunity to aspiring Hindi bands. Flagging off RC Live – the nationwide hunt for India’s best Hindi band, Radio City invites all Hindi bands to showcase their talents with a shot at winning an album release contract with EMI. Also in the offing, is the promise of being jointly promoted both by Radio City and EMI and a CD compilation titled, ‘The Best of RC Live’ to be launched by EMI. Evangelizing RC Live and supporting the cause of giving India a truly talented Hindi music band are the Judging Panel and Mentors – Palash Sen of Euphoria, Subir Malik of Parikrama and Vibhav Rao, Manager, Artists & Repertoire, EMI who will judge the month long LIVE musical extravaganza. With over 50 Indian bands already in the running, more bands are invited to rush in their entries by Tuesday, Feb 12, 2008. The months of hard work and planning has finally taken shape and the diversity of entries received, only strengthen our promise of an exciting finale!” Spanning the nation through three regional hubs – Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai, RC Live will conclude with a mega concert at the National Finale in Delhi on February 29, 2008. The pre-requisite to participate in RC Live is a Hindi band comprising a maximum of 8 members. There is no registration fee required to participate. Bands can rush in their entries comprising a CD featuring maximum of 3 original music compositions in MP3/ WAV format, along with the duly filled entry form to Radio City Corporate Office Mumbai by Feb 12, 2008. RC Live is divided in 3 regions – North, South and West with entries from Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur converging in Delhi (North), Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai converging in Bangalore (South) and Mumbai, Baroda, Ahmedabad, Surat, Nagpur and Pune converging in Mumbai (West) respectively. From the entries received, the judging panel will identify top 5 bands from each region post which they will battle it out at the Regional Finals in Bangalore (Feb 20), Delhi (Feb 22) and Mumbai (Feb 23) respectively. The top band from each region will then compete for the title of India’s best Hindi band at a live concert featuring a performance by Indian Ocean.
