MUMBAI: NINE FM leaves no stone unturned when it comes to spreading awareness and good will among its listeners. Right from inception, NINE FM has been an active participant in awareness campaign relating to various social issues.
NINE FM, the first FM Station of Gangtok, Sikkim observed WORLD AIDS DAY for the second time after its launch in Sikkim. NINE FM aired a special show on HIV/AIDS, Universal Access and Human Rights of people living with HIV/AIDS. Interview of experts like Dr. Namgyal T Sherpa, project Director, Sikkim State AIDS Control Society and Dr. Doma Bhutia, Human Rights & Legal Network was aired on this day.
NINE FM encouraged listeners to come forward and talk on the subject. Apart from the interview, the experts present in the studio also answered our listener’s queries. NINE FM distributed red ribbons in Gangtok town as a sign of NINE supporting the cause â€?STOP AIDS, KEEP THE PROMISE’.
Live interview of Mr. Tarun Kumar Maiti, Project Director, West Bengal Voluntary Health Association was aired on NINE FM, Siliguri. Two HIV positive people who are also working as counselors at West Bengal Voluntary Health Association were also invited to convey the message on the subject on WORLD AIDS DAY. Public Service Message by HIV/AIDS patients were also aired throughout the day in both the stations.
Last year NINE FM had organized NINE FREEDOM ROCK TOUR in association with Sikkim State AIDS Control Society (SSACS) to spread awareness on HIV/AIDS. The show was a huge success.
