MUMBAI: Myxer, a mobile technology company that operates the largest mobile entertainment site in the U.S., today announced it has expanded its partnership with EMI Music, one of the world’s leading music companies, to include music videos.
Since 2009, Myxer has provided MP3 songs, albums and ringtones from EMI Music’s catalog which includes artists such as, Katy Perry, the Beastie Boys and others. With the addition of EMI Music’s videos, Myxer now offers its users free, high quality streaming music videos from the label.
“Myxer’s top priority has always been to bring the best in free, ad-supported entertainment, and adding a richer video experience from top EMI Music artists is a natural fit,” said Myxer CMO Mike Carson. “Given the growing popularity of online video, we’re excited to expand our partnership with EMI Music to include streaming music videos.”
The addition of online streaming video also enables Myxer’s sales team to offer advertisers new inventory for video pre-roll, post-roll and overlay video ads. Myxer has served more than 2 billion mobile downloads to date and last year added MP3 songs and albums to its catalog of more than 9 million items, including music, images, video, apps and games.
“Video has long been an important part of the music experience, and we are very pleased to be able to expand our existing partnership with Myxer to include our catalog of quality music videos,” said Mike Abbattista, EMI Music’s VP, New Channel Development. “After successfully introducing MP3 songs, albums and ringtones for our artists, video is a logical next step.”
With more than 15 million web and mobile monthly unique visitors, Myxer is a leading destination for free, ad-supported content and provides advertisers with highly targeted opportunities to various consumer segments.
