MUMBAI: As the nation goes through one of the most participatory elections in its history 94.3 MY FM is also contributing to the political cause. In an attempt to spread more and more awareness about the elections and to promote the right to vote, 94.3 MY FM is running an interesting campaign called â€?Ungli Karo’ in all 17 MY FM cities across the 7 states of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh. The â€?Ungli Karo’ campaign is an interesting play on words and motivates the listeners to lift their fingers and vote for what is right.
During the entire campaign, which started on April 17th and will go on till election dates in each city, the RJ’s of MY FM have been interacting with people about things like how to get a voters ID and the right to exercise a â€?No Vote’ through Section 49-O (Conduct of Elections Rules, 1969 Act). The station has been airing the information related to getting a voters ID and has also taken on air the respective authorities for the procedure.
The Right to No Vote, which has been mostly under the wraps previously, is also being promoted fervently. MY FM’s key markets are the tier 2 and tier 3 cities where election activities are in full swing but voter awareness is low and MY FM’s efforts are directed towards bringing greater meaning to the elections.
The campaign has been running successfully and the phrase has caught on with everyone as they go about the election talks with a candid â€?Ungli Karo’. The campaign has done exceptionally well in the 17 cities and especially in Ahmedabad and Bhopal where it is the leading election campaign on radio.
Speaking about the campaign, 94.3 MY FM’s Chief Operating Officer – Mr. Harrish M Bhatia said, 94.3 MY FM has constantly been involved with the things that matter and the election activities are a very important aspect for our listeners. Our â€?Ungli Karo’ Campaign has been specially designed for our markets to promote voter awareness and involvement in the process. The campaign urges listeners to vote through a simple yet effective line: â€?Ungli Karo – Vote Do’. We had also done campaign last year for state elections called â€?Dho Daalo’ which was a huge success and the â€?Ungli Karo’ campaign has received excellent response so far….
