Bhai Sant Singh Aadil – Kirtani Hazuri Ragi Jattha
Sardar Sant Singh Adil, the Jathedar of Shri Nankanasahab, the birth place of Guru Nanak Dev, was born in a small village of Pakistan’s Suba Sarhad Division, Kohat Ilaka, Kurrm Agency on 21st January, 1967. Born in a poor family, he was fond of music even as a small child. He received his primary education in English and Urdu in Sadda Kurrm Agency. He finished schooling in 1985 from the Peshawar Board and further went on to study Punjabi Gurmukhi in Kabul, Afghanistan, which he completed in 2 years. On his return to Pakistan, he settled in Farrukhabad, where Shri Nankanasahab is located. It was around this time that the Gurudwara Sachcha Sauda was established in this town. In 1992, Sardar Sant Singh Adil went on to become a Granthi and Kirtani Hazuri Ragi here. In 1996 he was transferred to the holy Gurudwara Shri Nankanasahab as the Jathedar. He has been imparting music training to the young boys and girls at Nankanasahab ever since and performs kirtan here daily.
