MUMBAI: Mumbai’s Radio City 91.1FM’s â€?Gift a Diwali – A City Smile initiative’ in association with CRY (Child Rights and You) concluded on the auspicious occasion of Diwali today. Starting October 13-26, 2008, the FM station had embarked on this unique drive for Mumbai’s Radio Cityzens to contribute a memorable Diwali to make child rights a reality nationwide.
As part of this drive, Mumbai’s Radio City 91.1FM collected Rs. 2,64,325 which was presented to Ms. Smita Das, GM, CRY by RJs Harssh and Archana, hosts of â€?Whatte Fun Mornings’ today. Ms. Das thanked the city of Mumbai for stepping forth to support this cause. She also went on-air on â€?Whatte Fun Mornings’ with RJs Harssh and Archana and spoke on how this contribution would make a difference to the cause of Child Rights in India.
Speaking on the success of this drive, Mr. Rana Barua, Executive Vice-President and National Head – Programming and Marketing, Radio City 91.1FM said, The success of our â€?Gift a Diwali’ initiative has made our Diwali all the more memorable this year. It is most heartening that we along with our listeners, have made a difference to the lives of children across the country by coming together as a community and gifting them a brighter Diwali.
