MUMBAI: As thousands of brides and grooms geared up to wed this Sunday, Radio Mirchi got Mumbai couple, Abhishek & Garima Gupta to renew their vows on the auspicious occasion of Akshay Tritya
There was dhammal, gaana and bajaana at Radio Mirchi’s Mumbai office which was decked with bright orange marigold flowers. Looking every bit a shaadi venue, everyone from the RJs to the baraatis were dressed up in their best traditional attire, ready to have a blast!
After months of no â€?shubh mahurat’ for a wedding, there was finally one, on Sunday, 16th May and on this occasion of â€?Akshay tritya’, with about 60,000 weddings taking place and thus a shortage of venues, Radio Mirchi decided to fulfill one lucky winner’s wish of getting married in the Radio Mirchi studio

However, RJ Jeeturaaj was won over by 10 year old Nakul’s wish. The little boy had innocently admitted on air that he hadn’t seen his parents wedding and that he wasn’t present in any of the photographs and thus would like to see his parents getting married. What ensued was a vibrant and joyous occasion as the bride and groom once again exchanged wedding vows, recalled fond memories with each other and exchanged garlands amidst loud cheers and applause from everyone present.
The atmosphere was electric with rhythm, verve and a feisty spirit in the air as RJ Anmol upped the entertainment quotient by singing â€?Bari Barsi’ and turned the MIrchi studio into a dance floor!
Gracing the occasion and congratulating the duo, was the newly married couple Rahul Mahajan and Dimpy Ganguly. Looking resplendent, the pair applauded this innovative initiative undertaken by Radio Mirchi. Rahul Mahajan said It’s praiseworthy what Radio Mirchi has done.
