Michael Jackson Thriller Jacket for Benefit auction

MUMBAI: MUMBAI: Michael Jackson’s fans can now bid for the legends most famous red jacket that he has worn in the iconic 1993 music video â€?Thriller.’ The jacket is one of the several MJ items that are featured in the Julien’s Music Icon sale which will take place on 25-26 June in California.

The jacket, which Jackson personally autographed to his former costume designers, is set to be auctioned for 400,000 dollars or less along with the wig Jackson wore at his ‘This Is It’ news conference in London and a glove he wore at the American Music Awards. The wig is expected to haul in between 4,000 dollars and 6,000 dollars and the glove is valued between 20,000 dollars and 30,000 dollars.

In an CNN interview, Julien’s auctions president Darren Julien said , The jacket need no identity, the moment you see the jacket, you know what it [is] immediately and who it belongs to. It is truly the most iconic piece of pop culture history….

The music icon sale will also include a bustier signed by Madonna, Jaguar car owned by Frank Sinatra, pair of trainers signed by Britney Spears and Elvis Presley original TCB… necklace along with 600 other collectibles.

The proceeds from the auctions will be donated for the benefits of Shambala Preserve in California where the late pop stars previously owned Bengal tigers Thriller and Sabu reside.
