MUMBAI: Lucknow’s Radio City 91.1FM ushered a fitness wave in a complete ‘Whatte Fun’ style! In an endeavour to enhance awareness on healthy living, Radio City urged listeners to adapt to a healthier and a balanced way of life by participating in their unique initiative ‘The Healthy Me Walkathon’ organized at the East End Mall at Gomtinagar today. Joining Lucknow Radio City 91.1FM’s RJs Meenu, Fahad, Amir and Vera and gracing the occasion was none other than the Ex-Mayor of Lucknow and Padmashri Awardee Dr S.C. Rai himself, who came in to lend a helping hand to Radio City’s venture. This innovative initiative was supported by Wave Cares and Shekhar Hospital.Resonating healthy living through the City of the Nawabs, Radio City ran a 5-day contest called ‘Healthy Me’ exclusively for the Lucknow’s Radio Cityzens. The station encouraged listeners to participate and disclose their own little secret of living life the healthy way! From revealing basic habits like trimming nails on regular basis to remarkable practices like Yoga and ‘Pranayam’, the station witnessed an overwhelming response on this interactive-base contest. With entries pouring in from all the corners of the city, the station selected the best 20 from the overflowing stream of responses.
Concluding this exciting contest, Radio City hosted a grand finale at the East End Mall with the Ex-Mayor of Lucknow City and Padmashri Awardee Dr. S.C. Rai, who stepped in to support this goodwill gesture initiated by the station. He felicitated the winners while appreciating their innovative approach of living a “hale and hearty” life and encouraged them to widen their healthy horizons to their city as well. His presence created a stir and excitement within the listeners and taking this enthusiasm to the next level, Radio City challenged all the people to participate in a brisk Walkathon from the mall to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. A huge parade of participants walked up to the end point, thus creating a healthy atmosphere in the city. Catching the “healthy vibes” passed on by the walkers, many on-goers joined the Walkathon, making this campaign an instant success!

Continuing with their ongoing drive to spread health awareness, Radio City also set up medical centres within the mall and offered free medical check ups by Dr Swati and Hemant Gupta (Dental Surgeons), Dr Shobhit Kacker (Eye Specialist) and Dr. Vijay Seth (Physician) to all those present at the Mall. Contributing to the cause, Ex-Mayor Dr S.C. Rai enthusiastically got himself checked at the centre as well.
