Kalpana asked to remove footage of Peacock from Hindi music video album

NEW DELHI: Bhojpuri singer Kalpana has run into trouble – for showing the national bird Peacock in the video of her new Hindi music album â€?Maa-e-Ri – a lyrical conversation with Mother Nature’, slated for release on 27 October.

The Central Board of Film Certification and the Animal Rights Board have objected to the use of the national bird in the video. The singer has been ordered to remove the footages.

Kalpana, who is the producer of the music video, said the shoot of the video is already complete and we have no option but seek fresh permission to use some other bird for the video, which involves a huge cost.’

She asked â€?If the Peacock is our national bird, why can I not proudly show it to the world?’

â€?I respect the CBFC, but such shots should only be banned if there is any cruelty shown in the video. The theme of the song is Harmony with Nature, and so I should be allowed to shoot with my national bird being an Indian.’
