Holi Radio City takes the road less travelled

MUMBAI: Taking away from traditional celebrations, this Holi, Radio City goes colourful in a unique way.

RJ Rohit Vir of ‘Taka Tak Mumbai’ are visiting the draught affected areas in Maharashtra. RJ Rohit has visited some of the most severely affected areas near Ahmednagar and interacted with the farmers there capturing their lives on his show ‘Taka Tak Mumbai’. The documentation started on the 25th of March will be concluded on the day of Holi.

The journey to the heart of Maharashtra has brought to light some of the harsh realities faced by these farmers each day.  One of the worst droughts in several decades, it has crippled normal life beyond imagination. In the words of Rohit Vir, “It has been a touching experience. This is the first time something like this has been undertaken on radio and the journey has been an eye opener. The resilience shown by these farmers is praise-worthy. This is indeed the worst draught in many years and the experience is worth sharing on air.”

With Holi just round the corner, the plight of these makes us realize the value of things we take for granted. Radio City urges listeners to play a responsible Holi, wasting as little water, as possible.

Stay tuned to Radio City 91.1 FM, as the farmers of Ahmednagar recount their experiences on ‘Taka Tak Mumbai’ with RJ Rohit Vir.
