MUMBAI: This April Fool’s Day, Fever 104 pulled off a hilarious gag on its listeners. The station planned an elaborate set up for its audience and brought in “Bollywood Fever” on air.
Listeners were invited by Fever 104 to participate in on-air auditions to win a chance to star in a MEGA BOLLYWOOD FLICK. The concept was promoted with much hype on air and the auditions were dealt with utmost seriousness and sincerity. About 12 “winners” were personally called up and invited to audition and lo behold! at 8 pm today, the prank was unveiled amidst much laughter and cracks and leg pulling. The RJ literally went “And, the winner is ¦April Fool’s Day!”
As per Neeraj Chaturvedi, Station Head- Fever 104 FM, Delhi “Listeners are very smart these days¦and can figure out gags on air if they are not thought through well enough. A great April Fool’s Day joke takes as much planning and preparation and attention to detail as a great promotional activity. Fever 104 wanted to innovate on the way we celebrate April Fool’s Day with our listeners and the prank was kept simple and harmless. Our listeners truly were a sport! The station found great support and instant reactions from its audience who called in to join them while the gag was being revealed.
