Dj Jenny D replaces Sakshi Pradhan in Hemant Nilim Das’ film Bastards

MUMBAI: The firebrand and devil-may-dare Dj Jenny D has replaced MTv Splitsvilla and Bigg Boss participant Sakshi Pradhan in the film Bastards. The film is directed by Hemant Nilim Das and co-produced by Franklyn R and Hemant Nilim Das.  While the producers and director were not willing to comment on the subject a source told us that Sakshi Pradhan was ‘acting difficult and pricy’.  A little birdie told us, “A photo shoot was scheduled for a promotional advertisement for the film last week and Sakshi Pradhan refused to be part of it. She demanded the producer get her a makeup man who charges Rs 25,000/- per day and wanted costumes worth Rs 50,000/- for the shoot. The producer was thus forced to drop Sakshi Pradhan from the cast of the film and replace her overnight with DJ Jenny D.” The film Bastards is bilingual and will be dubbed in Hindi, Bengali and English.

The film also features well-known male models and actors Jeet Gupta and Mani – both of them have worked in several reality shows and are now concentrating on films. Hemant Nilim Das’ film Underground which was recently completed after being shot on the Indo-Chinese border is ready for release and is likely to be released in end-June this year. Underground features Rekha Rana along with Jeet Gupta and Nihar Thakkar in the role of a son of Pakistani diplomat. Awadesh Mishra a national award-winning actor plays the role of a NGO activist who was kidnapped by a terrorist organization way back in 1997 from a north-eastern river island.

Hemant Nilim Das said, “I have roped in Dj Jenny D for the film Bastards which deals with the sensitive subject of cross-border terrorism, secret killings and state-sponsored extortion. We tried to contact Sakshi Pradhan but she was not available for comment. Here is the promotional poster of the film Bastards which is very controversial and is likely to ruffle many feathers when it is released. For now we hope Sakshi Pradhan is not ruffled on being dropped from the film.
