MUMBAI: Debashis Paul, based in New Delhi, will have a national role at Percept/H and is responsible for six offices including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune and Lucknow. Debashis started his career with Bates (then Clarion Advertising Services) before moving to Lintas where he worked for 6 years primarily on ITC and Philips , later he joined Saatchi and Saatchi .As VP & Head of Saatchi Delhi Office he revamped the agency operations following the win of the Hyundai Motor account .
His last employer was McCann Erickson with whom he has had the longest stint in his career spanning 12 years and his last position there was Executive Vice President and Head – McCann Social based in Delhi. At McCann he took on various roles to build the agency – first leading key global accounts, namely, Reckitt Benckiser ,Nestle, MasterCard, GM, Microsoft, Coke, HP and Chicco to wearing the hat of Chief Growth Officer – a role assigned to him under the McCann network system for business expansion and finally heading the Delhi operations between 2007 to 2011. Debashis has also handled large advertisers in the Agency’s portfolio apart from the above like Aircel , Dabur ,Diageo ,Perfetti ,Panasonic , Reebok and Virgin (airlines). In 2011 he spearheaded the initiative to set up the Social advertising wing for McCann – a global first for the McCann Worldgroup with UNICEF and PSI as key clients.
