MUMBAI: Chandrachur Mukherjee, a pianist, keyboardist and a vocalist launched his solo debut album ‘E Mon’ at Kolkata.
‘E Mon’ is a Bangla fusion album with a blend of Indian and Western classical instruments like folk and pop. The album has been placed alongside World Music due to the combination of myraid genres of music that cuts across age groups. Chandrachur’s compositions are mainly based on the basic raag of the song.
Present on the occasion were honourable Justice â€?Biswanath Somadder,’ â€?Nondon Baghchi,’ â€?Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar’ and other dignitaries from the music fraternity.
Chandrachur has worked as composer and music director in various TV serials, movies, music albums and also with dance troupes. He can foray effortlessly between the Indian and Western genres of music, fusion being his forte. Chandrachur Mukherjee started his musical journey at the age of two and a half years. He is a Hindusthani Classical singer of the Patiala Gharana and the disciple of the Late Ustad Munabbar Alki Khan and Late Prasun Badyopadhyay. He is also a piano exponent in Western Classical music and Rabindrasangeet.
