MUMBAI: The BIG Marathi Entertainment Awards witnessed assemblage of the bigwigs from the Marathi entertainment industry including Ashok Saraf, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Renuka Shahane, Padmini Kolhapure and many more to recognize and support the first-ever platform to create and celebrate the impressive work done by the Marathi Entertainment industry. Bollywood hits like Dum Maro dum, Sheila ki Jawani, and the best Marathi numbers resounded at Tulip Star (Juhu) as Kashmera Shah brought the house down with her performance. The evening saw the famous child artist, our very own gangu bai – Saloni Daini’s wise-cracks leaving the audience asking for more.
The evening started with the skit performance by Makrand Anaspure and Vinod Khedekar which accelerated the excitement quotient followed by Vaishali Samant who charmed the audiences with her melodious voice and popular numbers like â€?Hi gulabi hawa’, â€?Aika Daji ba’, â€?Chum Chum’, followed by the breath-taking Malkhamb act especially performed by the students of Samartha Vyayam Mandir. And that’s not the end, the fun filled evening continued when the generation next of the Marathi entertainment industry performed a fusion of â€?Lavani’ by Girish and Girija Oak, â€?Komdi’ by Kishori Shahane and Bobby, â€?Gojwa’ by Tejaswini Pandit and Jyoti Chandekar, â€?Naka muka’ by Teja and Neeta Devkar.
The entertainers competed against each other for various coveted titles including The BIG Marathi Most entertaining – Director, Film, Actor (male and female), Theatre personality and Play of the Year. The awards night also honoured Marathi television talent across various fields including The BIG Marathi Show of the Year (Fiction and Reality) and the Television Personality of the Year and more.
