MUMBAI: Patiala today concluded its BIG RJ Hunt, which was the talk of the town and met with great success, reaching out to students across the city, providing them an opportunity to recognize their talent and put it to best use, by giving them an opportunity to host the show on the Radio Station! The Station has short-listed 8 students who are the winners of the ‘BIG RJ Hunt’ which was flagged-off on 29th Jan 2008. The students who hail from schools across Patiala, will don the cap of a Radio Jockey (RJ) for BIG FM’s Sunday Show – ‘BIG CHUTTI’. Reflecting the true essence of the ‘Vibe of the City’, the Station has offered a platform for the youth to express themselves and have fun at the same time. In a week-long challenging procedure, the expert panel of BIG 92.7 FM has short-listed the final 8 students from schools across Patiala. The winners of the ‘BIG RJ Hunt’ are: Tanveer and Amandeep Kaur – Buddhadal Public School (BDS), Aftab – Yadwindera Public School (YPS), Neha, Sanchita and Anupreet – DAV Public School and Gurpreet Kaur and Jashan – Army Public School. The participants were adjudged based on their voice, performance and confidence levels coupled with their entertainment quotient. The selected 8 students will now host the weekly show BIG CHUTTI on every Sunday. The entries for the RJ HUNT contest were invited through sms. Students who participated in this exciting talent hunt had to send their messages on 55454. The hunt received over-whelming response from the people of Patiala. The Big RJ Hunt auditions were organized across following schools in the city – Yadvindera Public School (YPS), DAV, Army Public School and Buddha Dal Public School. In the first phase of the activity each School selected 10 students from its senior classes on the basis of skill and presentation. In the second phase, an expert panel from BIG 92.7 FM visited each school for the final screening. The Team picked 2 students from each school. The talent hunt was planned with an aim to provide the students a chance to get associated with radio as an entertainment medium in general and BIG 92.7FM in particular, given that they would also get a platform for self expression. Speaking about this unique RJ Hunt, Mohit Sharma, Cluster Head – Punjab, BIG 92.7 FM, said, “The BIG RJ Hunt was hosted to offer the youth of the city a platform for self expression and an opportunity to further put their skills to best use. Young minds bring in fresh ideas to the table, something that we are always on the lookout for. The contest received an overwhelming response and we have found some excellent talent, whose skills we will further hone.”
