MUMBAI: The three-phased ‘Big Little RJ Hunt’, an initiative by Big FM Chennai turned out to be a resounding success and culminated with the selection of three young radio jockeys following an exciting final round at the Express Avenue Mall in the presence of a celebrity line-up that included director Karthik Subbaraj, producer CV Kumar, actor Vijay Sethupathy and music director Santhosh Narayanan of the movie ‘Pizza’.
Big FM’s hunt for the best three little RJs was flagged off earlier by the Big FM RJs on 14 November 2012. The search travelled across select schools in Chennai. As the grand prize of this fascinating contest, the winning trio were to get an opportunity to host Big FMs shows with experienced jocks on-air.
Big FM RJs auditioned children on various parameters to suit the role of the ‘BIG Little RJ’. 20 talented potential kids were selected from different schools across the city for the semi finals, which was held at Little Nathella. The best five from here were selected for the final round. On Saturday, the five finalists were judged by RJs and a line-up of celebrities post which the three winning ‘BIG Little RJ’s were crowned.

The ‘Pizza’ cast and crew along with the Big FM Rjs had another treat for the listeners. The team launched the Original Sound Track from their super hit movie. The ‘Pizza’ team and RJs also flagged off the special celebratory Big FM van which would go around the city collecting wishes from Rajinikanth fans for his upcoming birthday.
Commenting on the Big Little RJs’ performances, a company spokesperson said, “This is a wonderful opportunity to unearth and nurture children with a penchant for Radio Jockeying. We at Big FM wanted children to enjoy themselves, and we felt providing them an opportunity to RJ especially in the presence of celebrities and their future fans would be an exciting way.
