MUMBAI: BIG 92.7 FM, India’s No. 1 FM Station, in its continual effort to contribute positively to the society, and impact listeners lives positively, will celebrate ‘World No Tobacco Day’ with a difference. The Station plans to host an event, titled ‘Have to Tambaku Chhodo’ (At least quit tobacco now) where promoters from BIG FM, dressed in black robes, skull caps and ‘quit tobacco consumption’ message will approach people consuming tobacco and persuade them into pledging against tobacco consumption. Their reward will be ashtrays filled with lollipops!
Come 31st May, the Station will discuss harmful effects of tobacco consumption, on air. A cancer specialist will be invited to the studio to throw more light on the subject and to answer any queries that listeners might have. Bytes of prominent citizens of Surat and cancer patients (suffering due to tobacco consumption), will be aired to gather greater appeal on the subject and provide a better perspective.Devlo, the comic character on BIG FM Surat who has recently won RAPA award for his witty skills, will also promote ‘Quit Tobacco Consumption’ message in his unique style.
People will be encouraged to register their opposition against tobacco consumption by signing on a BIG BANNER. An OB van, carrying BIG FM RJs shall cover the activity live.
Speaking on the occasion, Hitesh Budhbhatti, Cluster Head – Gujarat, BIG 92.7 FM, said “Every tobacco consumer is aware of the harmful effects of tobacco consumption, but through this activity we want to emphasize on the eventual outcome of tobacco consumption. We want to remind people what they could turn into, if they don’t give up tobacco consumption NOW! It is our endeavor to use every opportunity to live our brand-line of Suno Sunao, Life Banao, and hence positively impact the lives of listeners.”
