MUMBAI: Alliance Entertainment, a leading distributor of CD & DVD catalog titles and provider of home entertainment software distribution, category management and e-commerce fulfillment, announced today the appointment of Mike Davis as President, effective immediately.
Alliance was jointly acquired by affiliates of Platinum Equity and The Gores Group in September 2010.
Mr. Davis joins Alliance from Universal Music Group (“UMG”) where he served in various strategic and sales capacities for more than 14 years. Since 2006 he has served as Executive Vice President and General Manager for Universal Music Enterprises (“UME”) where he oversaw all strategic and tactical operations.
Prior to joining UME, Mr. Davis was Executive Vice President and General Manager of UMG’s distribution arm, Universal Music Group Distribution (“UMGD”). At UMGD, he provided leadership for the company’s physical and digital distribution arm and its 400 employees. He oversaw all UMGD sales, channel marketing and business development functions.
Mr. Davis attended Georgia State University before pursuing a career in the music industry.
