Yamaha Electronics Corporations has launched Music Cast2, wireless music network.
The music system is a Wi-Fi based tunes centre that allows users to wirelessly transmit and listen to music. It can distribute audio to around 32 rooms from a vast array of sources. It can also pull audio from a variety of sources, including Rhapsody, Internet radio, Computers (both PC and Mac), and NAS devices and even from network attack storage devices. It also supports MP3, WMA excluding lossless and PRO, AAC except Apple lossless and Apple FairPlay DRM, FLAC and WAV audio formats.
Touted as the ultimate multiroom wireless system for music lovers, the device supports iTunes AAC files through TwonkyMedia server Software which is bundled with MCX-100 Network Music Commander. It can also playback music from iPods, Bluetooth devices and other Yamaha accessories—via a built-in dock port—and USB thumb drives.
The system includes a 3.5 inch colour LCD screen. It integrates music from many rooms into existing home theatre systems. It acts a multi-zone remote control for the RX-Z7 or the RX-V3900 in case these receivers are on the same network. By means of two-way communication, the Network Music Commander can turn on the A/V receivers, browse and navigate content. Users can also choose the sources and regulate volume levels from anywhere in the house.
Connecting to iPods and Bluetooth devices is possible through optional Yamaha accessories like the YDS-11 iPod docks and YB-10 Bluetooth receivers. It offers subwoofers that present additional bass response in a particular zone. The top panel controls provide handy accessibility to vital functions like volume and muting.
Components of the gadget can be obtained independently or also as a start up package that incorporates one MCX-RC100 Network Music Commander and two MCX-A300 Network Music Players. The MCX-RC100 is available for $499.95 while the MCX-A300 and MCX-P200 both are priced at $399.95. However the MCX-ZP2A costs $1199.95.
