MUMBAI: Set to take on the next generation Apple iPod Touch, Samsung announced the launch of its massive portable media player ‘Galaxy Player 5.8’ at the IFA trade fair.
The android multimedia player is touted with TouchWiz, 5.8-inch QHD 960x540p display, 2500mAh battery, 16/32GB internal storage, microSD slot and front-facing VGA camera. The player comes with Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, 1GB of RAM and Play Store support.
The Korean manufacturer has not revealed the global availability or pricing detail for the player. Its also unlikely that Samsung will release the device in the Indian market, as company has not launched any Galaxy Player device in the country. Galaxy Player 5.8 is the fifth Galaxy Player to be announced till now; other devices in the series are Galaxy Player 4, Galaxy Player 5, Galaxy Player 4.2, Galaxy S Wi-Fi 3.6.
