MUMBAI: Nokia has launched three new Qwerty based handsets named the C3, the C6 and the E5, in the Indian market. The handset manufacturer has also introduced a new version of its messaging service with free push e-mail facility.
Targeted mainly targeted towards the youth and executives who are using chat and e-mail services more and more these days the handset also features Nokia new messaging service which aggregates multiple e-mail accounts through one client and can support and mobilise up to 10 e-mail accounts.
This service will be available through all leading operators and consumers will only have to pay the basic data download charges. And as part of the Nokia Messaging Service (NMS) portfolio, it will also offer free Instant Messaging (IM) services, preloaded on select devices.
The Nokia C3 holds the distinction of being the first Qwerty keypad laden S40 device. The C3 is the lowest priced amongst the handsets and features an easy to use home screen from where users have direct access to social networks. People can view, comment, update their status and share pictures to their favourite social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. It boasts of a 2.4-inch screen and also supports Ovi Mail and Ovi Chat. The handset which comes with Wi-Fi as well sports a basic 2 megapixel camera at the rear. The phone supports memory expansion and can take up to 8GB of memory using microSD cards. It is priced at Rs. 5,317.
Nokia C6 sports a 3.2 inch touch screen with a full slide out keyboard with 5 mega pixel camera with auto-focus and flash. It also features Ovi Maps with free walk and drive navigation. The smartphone is available at Rs 13,000.
Nokia E5 is for handling hard schedules with different types of efficiency applications available in the Ovi Store.The handset is available for Rs 10,634.
