Motorola unveils water-resistant smartphones, Defy XT & Mini

MUMBAI: Motorola has expanded its Defy series with the launch of two smartphones – XT and Mini in the Indian market.

The company claims that they are the first smart-phones in the country to feature MotoSwitch, a handy user interface that collects all the user preferences and stores them.

The handsets feature android 2.3 Gingerbread OS running with the MotoSwitch 2.0 user interface, front VGA camera, 2GB microSD card support expandable up to 32 GB, 512MB RAM, Wifi, GPS/aGPS, 3.5 mm stereo jack, bluetooth A2DP, AVRCP, 1650 mAh battery and are IP67 standard certified, water-resistant, scratch-resistant and dust proof.

The Defy XT sports a 3.7 inch FWVGA display, capacitive touch-screen using Corning Gorilla Glass technology, 480×854 pixel resolution, 5MP auto focus camera with flash, video recording and playback, digital compass and 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7227A mobile processor. The device is priced at Rs 16,190.

The Defy Mini is equipped with FM radio with RDS, playback/streaming MPEG4 video player, 3.2 inch HVGA capacitive touch-screen using corning gorilla glass technology, 320×480 pixel resolution, dual-SIM capability, 3MP camera with flash and 600MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7225A mobile processor. The device is priced at Rs 11,490.
