MUMBAI: Music label company T-Series initiated a raid after they got a tip from a local in Ahmedabad about an album ‘Bhakti Sagar’ being played on the local cable channel. The complaint stated that the songs were aired in spite of surpassing the ‘Kill date’. It was aired by a city-based InCablenet Company. Kill date is the time frame given to cable operators to air content on their channels.
The raid was carried on by the Ellis bridge police in Ahemdabad on 19 June. The police raided the control room of a local cable network and arrested one person. It is estimated that the company has incurred losses of Rs 15-18 lakhs.
Navrangpura resident Binal Dave (complained on behalf of T-Series) stated that the city-based InCablenet company had been broadcasting devotional songs produced by their company without obtaining due permissions for the same. Finding the company in violation of the Copyright Act, cops raided the InCablenet office at Shanay-2 complex and arrested operator Manoj Rathod. They also seized three computers used for broadcast, worth Rs 1.28 lakh.

The police are looking out for the company’s branch manager.
Commenting on the development, Gujarat Cable Operators Association president Pramod Pandya said, “If such an activity as happened or any of the laws have been breached, then the company should be sued and not the employ.”
InCablenet Company was unavailable for comments.
A few months ago, T-Series had carried out similar raids in Borivali, Mumbai and Chandigarh.
