MUMBAI: Radiohead’s innovative PolyFauna app for Android and iOS phones has apparently received an update, which could possibly mean new music is coming soon. The app, which was launched in February this year, is said to have been updated with new trippy visuals and never before heard music, which also includes lead singer- Thom Yorke’s harmonising vocals.
Over the last few days, Yorke has been posting all kinds of wacky visual art on his Twitter account. The images are rumoured to be a collaborative effort between him and the band’s artist- Stanley Donwood, which suggests that it might not be long before they have a new release.
A few months ago, the British band’s guitarist Jonny Greenwood revealed that the band would “start up in September, playing, rehearsing and recording and see how it’s sounding.” Currently, the band is on a break after the release and tour of its eighth studio album ‘King of Limbs’ in 2011. However, some of the band’s members have been pursuing their solo projects during the hiatus.

When released earlier this year, Yorke described the PolyFauna app as “from an interest in early computer-life experiments and the imagined creatures of our subconscious.” PolyFauna was said to use music and imagery from Radiohead’s previous album ‘King of Limbs’ recording sessions. The app was a collaboration between the British band and a digital art studio- Universal Everything.
