MUMBAI: 24-hour classical based Indian music channel, InSync, completed one year this Independence Day. To celebrate this first year of existence, the music channel has organised an event at Shanmukhananda hall on 23 August.
The seven hour celebration from 3.30 pm towards will have more than 35 plus artistes performing live, however, will not be aired live on the channel. Through the live property, InSync aims to attract 3000-4000 people.
On the same day, InSync with CRPIM initiatives, plans to launch a new program ‘Global Community of Indian Music’ (GCIM), which will be unveiled by Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and others. GCIM’s mission would be to preserve, protect and promote various genres of Indian classical music and create a sustainable Indian music eco-system across the world. Louis Bank, Gino Bank, Begum Sultana, Roop Kumar Rathod, Reva Rathod, Suresh Talwalkar and others will be performing during the celebration.

InSync founder Ratish Tagde says, “InSync has become immensely popular in a very short time. Through our niche channel we will continue to launch new initiatives to capture the eye of the global music community and enthusiasts of Indian music.” Tagde is part of the CRPIM management along with Sharad Chandra Tagde, Leena Tambawekar and Seema Tagde.
InSync head revenue and product management Dharit Parikh says, “We will promote the community and its ten point agenda. It will help musicians with the needed medical help and training. We are an Indian music group and so we ventured in it, and we will continue promoting Indian Classical music.”
The channel will be taking a huge step forward when they announce their International presence, during the gig. The channel might mostly reach out to more than 100 countries very soon.
“We plan to go International and expand digitally. In a quarter’s time, we are sure that our distribution and reach will be in place,” adds Parikh.
When asked about sponsorship on the channel, Parikh states, “Once our distribution falls into place, we will have advertisers supporting us. Right now, they are not able to support us because we are not able to facilitate them with the TV Index number and once that happen people will come and support us. This will happen soon.”
By October-November, it will launch a Carnatic music slot as well, which will make it a completely Indian music channel. Till date, it is airing Hindustani music throughout the day.
The channel was launched by Perfect Octave Media Projects Limited Venture, a BSE listed entity.
