After T-Series announced the release of the music of Blue on USB flash drives, Big Music has become a pioneer in its own right by launching Hindi film music on a SD (Secure Digital) card, that enables listeners to enjoy music and video on their mobile phones and MP3 players.
Big Music hopes to have a first-mover advantage with the launch of this card, as it will get a chance to cater to a huge and untapped market.
Do Knot Disturb’s music was launched on 25 August 2009, on the sets of Zee Saregama Li’l Champs. Music director duo Nadeem-Shravan and ace lyricist Sameer have created the music album of Do Knot Disturb, including tracks like â€?Bebo’, â€?Tere Naal’ and â€?Zulfaen Khol Khal Ke’ which have made their presence felt across TV, radio and digital channels.
Says Big Music CEO Kulmeet Makkar, India is a country of music lovers. And we as a music label try hard to make sure that people get their choice of music on their preferred format. We are very excited about this launch. The pricing strategy, is in keeping at par with the blank card is an anti-piracy strategy we have adopted.”
The SD card is priced at Rs 699. Audiences can also download the music content from Do Knot Disturb onto their mobiles, by sending a SMS â€?KNOT’ to 57886.
A large number of marketing activities have been planned for the music and film promotion of Do Knot Disturb. A high-frequency TV campaign is already on air. There are various tie-ups with music channels to promote the film and its music.
Partnerships with radio stations and mobile operators including college activations etc are currently on and will create hype for the film. In another innovation a flash mob activity was carried out by Big Music in association with Red FM in Delhi – A group of six dancers broke into an impromptu dance on the music of Do Knot Disturb, with the objective of promoting the music and urging the on-lookers to join in.
The film hits the theaters on 2 October 2009.
