MUMBAI:India’s premiere rock band, Agnee, gave their Mumbai fans an exclusive sneak peek into their forthcoming album. As a part of their first of its kind initiative, Create with Agnee…, they actually allowed their loyal fans to decide their next release. Singer Anushka Manchanda jammed live with Mohan on the song Jee Le Abhi. Well known personalities Shekhar Kapoor, Narayani Shastri, model Shonal Rawat, self-styled Sapna Bhavnani, Mrinalini Sharma, Ashwin Mushran and other well known personalities were present at the occasion.
The event conducted at Del Italia, Juhu and presented by Fosters, saw fans getting a treat for their ears as they cheered for the live performance by the band. As the evening progresseed, fans were seen getting involved in the sing-along sections and singing enthusiastically with the band as they performed their new songs like Mahive, Agnee, Kaise Ho Tum and others. Those looking forward to Agnee’s old favourites, Sadho Re, Kabeera, Shaam Tanha and the like were also not disappointed as the band performed live versions of these songs as well.
The participation of the audience in the voting was very enthusiastic, with each one putting in their pick on the cards handed out to them by Agnee. The band also promised to upload one minute previews of these songs on their Facebook fan page, to involve their out-of-Mumbai fans in the voting process as well. The selected song is expected to be announced next week, and the release of the song is expected first week of October. The songs of the Create with Agnee… album, to be released one at a time, will be available for free download from www.agneelive.com, as part of the band’s overall attempt to remove all barriers between their fans and Agnee’s music.

When asked about the performance and the crowd in Mumbai, Mohan, lead vocalist of the band, said: Our fans in Mumbai are really almost part of our family. We’ve had their support since the time we started forming the band till today, and we know we’ll have it for a long time… With a step like this, we’re just creating more opportunities for our fans to interact with us and actually share their thoughts with us. Every show is different, sometimes at a stadium for 5000 people or sometimes a more intimate session like today, with fewer people, but much closer to us. We had a great time today, and it was quite an emotional moment to see our fans cheering for our new songs and even singing along with songs they had not heard before!…
Koko, lead guitarist of the band, added: It’s always a pleasure playing in front of an audience like this. The crowd energy reflects in our playing as well, and with such wonderful people around, the musical performance also reaches new levels. We’ll remember this show for a long time to come….
Agnee, with the launch of their initiative, Create with Agnee… has taken a new approach that allows them to involve their audience much before even the release of a song, and also provides a platform for music minded people in their audience to be able to showcase their talent on the album. Agnee has introduced this venture with the roaring success of their first Create With Agnee contest where the band asked aspiring lyricists to write lyrics for their smash hit Splitsvilla Theme Song. With such innovative initiatives, Agnee has set out to prove that music, really, has no boundaries.
