That’s right, we speak of the Saturday Night Blues Band, all the way from Kolkata. Thus named because you can find them gigging every Saturday night at one of the city’s hottest night spots, SNBB features Jayanta Dasgupta a veteran on the Kolkata music scene, a graduate of the Guitar Institute in the USA and a worshipper of Blues. Starting from the Delta blues of Mississippi, to the more chic yet groovy sounds of Chicago, they cover artists like Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Son House, Elmore James, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, Koko Taylor, Etta James the SNBB have an extensive repertoire.
