MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM Chennai in association with Airtel presents the Airtel Mirchi Premier League. A mega cricket tournament with a difference! Airtel Mirchi Premier League is one of the biggest ever ten-over cricket tournament that the city of Chennai has seen till date.
Running for a period of two months, there are 96 teams participating with a total of 100 matches. The grand finale scheduled to be held on Sept.13, 2009 will see the two best teams competing for prize money of Rupees One Lakh.
The response for registration has been phenomenal with over 400 teams calling for registering in a span of four hours. The participants comprise of a mix of players from corporate, colleges and gully cricket teams.
