MUMBAI: Chennai will see a host of musicians paying their tribute to Michael Jackson on 29 August, the late pop legend’s birth anniversary
Singer turned actor Shruti Hassan will be one amongst several other young singers who will perform live for the concert.
The show will be held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai and will see celebrities like Academy award winning composer A R Rahman, veteran actor and filmmaker Kamal Hassan, composer singer Shankar Mahadevan, amongst an array of others. Newcomer Shruti is likely to belt out three of Jackson’s tracks, though the final songs are not zeroed in on as yet.

Other musicians like Benny Dayal and Krish will also be performing. Talking about the concert Shruti Haasan said, “It’s a really big event in Chennai. It’s a meeting of all musicians, who are coming together to pay tribute to the career of a great man. We are all very excited and enthusiastic about the show. We are the first city to do something like this in India.”
