MUMBAI: Since Pride is a time to celebrate love in all forms, VH1 Pride continues to bring multicultural programming with Zeeshan Ali, featured as one of faces of the LGBTQIA+ community at a virtual Pride Parade.
Through Vh1 pride Zeeshan’s intention is to explain to the viewers about the strong existence of the Drag community in India, he urges the viewers to educate themselves on the LGBTQ community and be a part of the community as an ally.
With fun interviews on theVh1 India Instagram handle, fans will be able to catch them at their candid best, talking about their life journey, music playing an integral part in their life, loving unabashedly and much more. The video was released on 23rd June 2020 at 11am.

As a multi-disciplinary artist, he would like to inculcate in the society, “With an interest in creating art that compel people to question, connect and understand the portrayal in my art pieces, I feel it’s my responsibility to speak about important matters though my art and create awareness in the society”.
“My art stems from opposing the enforced heteronormality and acceptance of one’s own being. I am compassionate toward the LGBTQIA and all human rights related movements along with environmental movements”, he adds.
The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 shows us the existing gender discrimination and is a complete disregard to a person’s right to self-identification. The sanitize and heteronormalize version of the Queer community that we see in media and movies right now is a major problem in the visibility of gender nonbinary and transsexual People. Zeeshan shared, “The stigma attached to the LGBTQIA community still exists in our society and the need of regular and focused sensitization programs at schools, workplace, healthcare spaces etc would be key in overcoming inherit biased and Queer phobic mindsets”.
“Unlearn the pseudo basis of discrimination and relearn the ideal of ‘Love For All’. Love for all is not possible without understanding the marginalized fringes of the society and accepting them for who they are”, Zeeshan Ali concluded.
