MUMBAI: In a first of its kind launch, Mumbai Electro-rockers Corner Café Chronicles today released their debut album ‘Renaissance’ – Part 1. This album will have 2 parts, second of which will be released in the next 3 months. In another first, the band will ‘reverse crowdfund’ this album after giving fans and supporters an opportunity to hear the music and make an informed choice to contribute basis their liking of the tracks.
The band has partnered with popular art community platform SkillBox in these unique initiatives that will help them recover some of the significant costs that go into producing a full-length album. The crowdfunding will be open from today for the duration of 45 days i.e. from June 12th to July 27th, 2020 and seeks to raise an amount of Rs. 1,20,000/-.
Speaking on the behalf of the band, frontman Chinmay Patkar said, “As a band, we’ve been producing music of a very different vibe. ‘Renaissance’ is a story we had to tell and the album depicts this change in our mind. We had so much music in our heads that it just rolled into 2 parts. Our music is about the change we saw through a sonic lens. This album marks our journey as a band and we are very excited about it.”

Renaissance – Part 1, is a 6-track album with Part 2 also having an equal no of songs. The Band released Midas as a single ahead of the album launch to much success. Corner Café Chronicles through title track Renaissance, urges their listeners to start questioning things, develop curiosity and thinking again. Other tracks in the album include Porcelain People and Shapes which also manifest similar thinking. The album lays down a few issues ranging from the abuse of nature to depression, to inherent greed of sexual freedom exploring the entirely unconventional depths of music in a symphonic way.
