Mumbai: One of the biggest musical events in Punjab, 4th Annual ETC Channel Punjabi Music Awards 2007 was held on 24 March at PAP Grounds, Jalandhar.
The event was hosted by actors Parmeet Sethi and Mona Singh, which saw many stars from Hindi Cinema and Punjabi Music Industry like Yana Gupta, Kailash Kher, Jazzy B, Sukshinder Shinda, Juggy D, Shin DCS, Hans Raj Hans and Sudesh Lehri and many more.
Comprising of 26 award categories covering different aspects of Punjabi music ranging from singing, composing, music direction to choreography were given among which the superhit number `Chak De Phatte` from last year`s delightful success KHOSLA KA GHOSLA won `Best Punjabi Song of the Year` award.
Expressing the joy of receiving the award, Savita Hiremath, co-producer of KHOSLA KA GHOSLA said, “We are thrilled about the recognition this number continues to get all over. With the competition as tough as `Pyaar Ke Side Effects` and nominations from all over the world, we are overjoyed to receive this awards.”
ETC Channel Punjabi President Rabindra Narayan said, “The aim of the Awards is to celebrate Punjab`s rich musical heritage and in doing so, create a high profile annual event to bring traditional music on the centre stage. The popularity of Punjabi singers and the Punjabi albums have crossed the national and international barriers now. It has got recognition outside India also to such an extent that even the pop artists of west have started incorporating Punjabi numbers into their albums”
Adding to this ETC Channel Punjabi VP (Programming) Rajiee M Shinde, “Never before so many top stars had shown together on one platform. The performances were lavishly mounted with lasers and special effects on a spectacularly designed stage. We would like to thank all who participated as a nominee, a judge or as a voter. Each of them have helped promote the purpose of the awards”
The event was organized by ETC Channel Punjabi and Zee Punjabi, and telecast live on ETC Channel Punjabi.
