Sunburn festival is known to instill reams of energy within us, with that rousing lineup and just the vibe of spending your new years eve there is quite exciting. This 2019 Sunburn would be held at Vagator Goa, while past three years the festival was been held at Pune and now one would get to witness a sight of music extravagance and hoards of entertainment.

How’s the feeling getting back to your homeland Goa?
Goa is Sunburn’s home and it’s a wonderful nostalgic feeling to witness Sunburn Festival’s homecoming after a long gap of 3 years. We left Goa in 2016 with a very heavy heart and missed Goa every moment. We tried really hard to recreate the magic of Goa across other destinations; however, Goa is Goa….unmatched to any other destination. It’s impossible to create the Goa magic anywhere else. And Sunburn is as Goan as the Goans! It was started in Goa 12 years ago and grew right there. Now that Sunburn has reached a threshold of mega recognition globally, we owe a major chunk of its success to Goa. We are really happy to be back home.
What are the challenges that you have faced this year?
Earlier this year Percept Live had announced a collaboration with Goa-based nightlife and promotions giant Klassique Events, to co-promote all Sunburn events in the state of Goa. After the successful first edition of the 2-day Sunburn Klassique event in Goa earlier this year in February 2019, Shailesh Shetty escalated efforts to convince us to grant the dates of the main Sunburn Festival in 2019 to Goa instead of Pune where it had held its previous 3 successful editions. We finally relented and are thrilled to see the flagship Sunburn Festival return home to Goa.
Expectations this Sunburn 2019.
The expectations are very high this year and we have spared no effort towards scaling up the entire festival this year. That includes the phenomenal Artist line-up, stage setups, activations, F&B offerings, Luxury lounges, After Dark parties, a secure Camping site at par with International festival standards and more. The safety of our fans is our top priority and we are working closely with all the authorities to ensure we have all safety measures in place. We are immensely grateful to the local authorities and the concerned departments of the Government of Goa for their support and assistance in our collective endeavor to re-create history with Sunburn Goa in 2019. We are committed to providing a truly memorable and magical event that will once again build Goa into a booming global music destination.
What new in comparison to last year that the audience will get to witness?
To commemorate Sunburn’s successful 12-year innings we have introduced a brand new underground music venture variant called ‘SOLARIS’ which will showcase a range of exquisite underground international and home-grown house and techno acts on two dedicated stages from 27th to 29th December 2019 at Sunburn Festival in Vagator Goa. Techno innovators, Cuban-American DJ/producer, MaceoPlex and five-time DJ Award winner Chilean-Swiss DJ Luciano who will be making their India debut at the festival will be headlining the SOLARIS stage. Joining them on the SOLARIS stage as support acts would be Oliver Huntmann, Jeremy Olander, Coyu, Hosh, Andre Winter, Anish Sood, Ana Lilia, Marino Canal, Shaun Reeves, Sequ3l, Priyanjana, Idriss D and Khen.
This exceptional selection of talent will deliver amorphic audio silhouettes within an electrifying atmosphere. This will perfectly align with the revolutionary, innovative, experimental and dark industrial ethos of Sunburn’s all-new venture ‘SOLARIS’. Maceo Plex is celebrated for his diverse production style spanning house, techno, electro and tech-house, and we are sure our fans are simple going to love his set along with the eclectic Talent line-up we have in store for them at SOLARIS.
We have also teamed up with W Goa to introduce a unique luxury experience called ‘THE LOUNGE’ which will offer an indulgent experience for those looking to take the Sunburn VVIP experience to the next level. Discerning globetrotting music aficionados can now enjoy ultra-luxury, comfort, customized service, curated F&B experiences, premium beverages and insider access to all the Sunburn Pre- and After-Parties at Rockpool, W Goa.
What would you like to tell the audience?
Sunburn Goa 2019 will offer fans a fantastic mix of music, art, camping, adventure, flea markets, After Dark parties, online and offline engagements that will keep them actively engaged in a fun and carefree atmosphere. Keeping our fans discerning tastes and requests in mind, Sunburn has tied up with the best partners and technicals globally, and we have spared no money or effort in working towards presenting an innovative, engaging, state-of-the-art international experience for our fans this December in Goa. We are going in all guns blazing to make Sunburn Festival 2019 an even bigger festival than ever before.
Sunburn is a one-of-a-kind collaborative, engaging platform for the Youth of India to connect, engage and just be themselves. We encourage everyone to come out of their homes, get off their couches, take their fingers off their smartphones, get out of the virtual world and have a total blast real-time in the great outdoors. Because that’s what being truly SOCIAL is all about.

What is the lineup for this year?
We have a fantastic artist line up including former World no #1 DJ Martin Garrix and the world’s biggest dance-pop acts The Chainsmokers headlining Sunburn Festival 2019. Phenomenal acts like Australian record producer, music programmer, and Grammy award winner DJ FLUME, multi-platinum producer and songwriter Jonas Blue, defining figure of house music Fedde Le Grand, Dutch dance music star Julian Jordan and young Belgian prodigy Lost Frequencies will be joining the Main Stage as support acts, promising an electrifying experience.

Sunburn Goa 2019 will feature several special label show-cases and stages including Martin Garrix’s STMPD imprint, Luciano and Friends, Senso sounds, Sin City, Slick, Suara&Vivrant.
How is the 13th edition of Sunburn different from the previous one?
The biggest shift is the venue….we are back in Goa, the birthplace of Sunburn. Any festival in sunny Goa is bound to be enjoyable given the abundance of sun, sea, sand, happiness, brilliant electronic music with the best global artists, state-of-the-art SFX, a range of fun activations, camp-outs, After Dark parties and so much more. We are scaling up on all fronts, be it the sets, F&B, activations, after parties and campsites. Three days of all of this on the shores of North Goa’s best party beaches – Vagator, set atop a hill against the stunning backdrop of the ocean, will take the experience of the 2019 Sunburn Festival to a whole new level altogether.
