MUMBAI: Mumbai’s DDB Mudra did India proud at last evening’s One Show 2009 in New York by becoming the only Indian entry to pick up a trophy.
Mudra’s radio public service single titled Bush, for the Islamic Research Foundation bagged a Bronze pencil at the award show held on 6 May.

The radio spot was created to highlight the misinterpretation of the religion of Islam, and its wrongful use by terrorists to motivate and misguide youngsters to commit crimes against humanity.
The idea was to clip words from the actual speeches of George W Bush and string them together so that they meant something quite contrary to the intended meaning of the speaker. The spot is therefore, a metaphor for the way terrorists take words from The Holy Koran out of context and create a different meaning than that which was originally intended, says the agency
The jury for the Radio category included some prominent names like Brian Ahern, Bobby Hershfield, Tohru Oyasu to name a few
A total of 12 entries had been shortlisted in various categories for the awards.
The top Pencil winners at this year’s One Show include the US, which went home with a tally of 39 pencils (eight Gold, 15 Silver, 16 Bronze).
Australia followed with a total tally f six trophies (two Gold, two Silver, two Bronze) and Malaysia which secured five pencils (two Gold, one Silver, two Bronze).
