MUMBAI: The ninth episode of T-Series Mixtape Season 2 features singer Aditya Narayan, who’s track in Season 1 was very well received and Dhvani Bhanushali, who is making headlines these days for her hit singles Leja Re, Vaaste.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar and powered by Amazon Prime Music. This soulful love mashup features two chartbusters songs, Baarish from the movie Half Girlfriend and Jubin Nautiyal’s single, Humnava Mere.
Speaking about the episode, singer Aditya Narayan said, “I am performing along with Dhvani Bhanushali on the songs Baarish and Hamnava Mere. Both the songs are extremely popular. The song Baarish has a sad undertone to it so we have eliminated that and kind of tried to put it in a happy space. We have changed a few notes around too. Dhvani is a young new musician on the rise so it’s great to work with her.”

On his preparations for the episode, Aditya further shared, “I disconnected myself from the original song while working on this track and treated this as an original so that we could give an entirely new perspective to it. When you see the production or arrangement of the song, it is entirely different from the original. At the same time, the concept is of combining two songs and making it one original one. That’s always a challenge because it’s never easy to merge two stories and make it one story. So when it comes to singing the song, I always try out new tones.”
Dhvani Bhanushali also said, “This is the first time I am performing with Aditya Narayan and the experience was great. We are performing on the tracks Baarish and Humnava Mere. I tried to add a little bit of western textures to the song.”
Talking about how music is going the digital way and the concept of MixTape she further comments, “Its good that music is going the digital way because everything is out there now. There are no boundaries as such anymore. Sitting here in India I can listen to music across the world and vice versa. There are certain songs you want to sing your way. MixTape allows you to give your own twist to the song.”
Music director Abhijit Vaghani concluded, “This is an emotional track. It has got an Arabic scaling. There is a bazooka (Middle Eastern instrument) involved and it doesn’t sound like a Bollywood track.”
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, this is an emotional and slow track as Aditya Narayan and Dhvani Bhanushali do full justice to it. Bringing freshness with their voices, the singers are further joined by musicians on guitar, drums, electric, acoustic keys, piano, percussion etc. The two harmonious singers create a perfect melody which will not only touch your heart but connect with your soul.
