After Salim Sulaiman shot into the limelight through spooky/ thriller flicks like Bhoot, Darna Mana Hai and Kaal, one assumes suspense and horror is their forte.
Akshay Kumar starrer 8×10 Tasveer brings the duo halfway back to what they are known for. For some reason, the composer duo has been unable to recreate the space they did post Chak De India, Dor and Fashion. However, in Tasveer, they revisit their original sound to some extent, but since the album also gives space for some existent-workable-non-risk commercial sound, this ends up as a hotchpotch
Tasveer has three music composers working on it – singer Neeraj Shridhar composes Aaja Mahi, Salim-Sulaiman composes Nazaara Hai and Haafiz Khuda and Bohemia brings in a motivating rap element through I got the picture
If Rock On introduced rock music to masses, Naazaara Hai introduces Nu-metal/ Heavy Metal. The track is intelligently done with heavy drumming, whammy bar solos and electronic effects identifying with the aforementioned genre. For this song, the credit goes to the lyricist Irfan Siddiqui who came up with the words that fit well without making the experimental track look out of place. Vishal Dadlani, who is experienced as a front man of Pentagram, does the vocal job in Nazaara Hai – perhaps, there’s nobody better than him when it comes to â€?aggression’

I Got The Picture- Bohemia
Both Haafiz Khuda and Kuch Istarah have the same melody, however the lyrics are different. While Hafiz Khuda is credited to Irfan Siddiqui for lyrics, Kuch Istarah is left uncredited. Both songs have Masakalli fame Mohit Chauhan teaming up with Tulsi Kumar. Surprisingly, the remix version of Kuch Istarah sounds much better than the original while Haafiz Khuda’s sounds best original.
I Got The Picture done by Bohemia makes a good Hindi rap number. Anybody exposed to Eminem will know where the inspiration comes from, nevertheless, the lyrics, which makes the most important element of a rap song are surprisingly addictive. Well, about Neeraj Shridhar’s â€?Aaja Maahi’ – it could have been well-off sans the English ho-hum. Period.
