MUMBAI: Singer Brijesh Shandilya who has co-sung Sanu Kehndi with Romy for the latest Akshay Kumar starrer, Kesari. Released on the official YouTube handle of Zee Music Company, its music video had garnered over 23 million views. The singer credits Akshay Kumar for its success.
“This is my second song for Akshay Kumar. It was a great experience. When the name Akshay Kumar gets associated, automatically, the level of the song is elevated. Akshay is a very positive personality. Whichever movies he is doing, today, has a social message, showing a mirror to the society. And I am proud that I am also contributing to his good work,” Brijesh exclaimed.
Revealing the back story of the song, Shandilya told, “When Azeem Dayani from Dharma Productions, called me for the song, Tanishk made me listen to the song. I found the tune very catchy. At that time, I did not know the song is for Kesari. I also like the arrangement of the song post listening to it. So, when the team is also supportive and your heart likes something, you too do the work nicely.

Speaking about Sanu Kehndi and how different it is from his previous numbers, Shandilya explained, “Sanu Kehndi is different. Every song has its own flavour. The song is a desi Punjabi, rhythmic number and its portrayal on soldiers has created an atmosphere in the video. The tune composed by Tanishk Bagchi is also very good.”
On working with Tanishk Bagchi, Brijesh exclaimed, “My most songs (about seven eight) that were noticed were of Tanishk only. He has given me some good songs like Banno, Rocket Saiyya, Badhaaiyan Tenu, Balma Yeh Karma etc.”
Lastly, on his upcoming projects, he concluded, “I am working on a lot of projects about which, I cannot reveal much now.”
